More than 200 cyclists will tackle the 54-mile Skull Valley Loop Challenge on Sunday to raise funds for Arizona Children's burn camp, Camp Courage.
Each summer, 100 burned children, ages 5-15, attend the camp. The cost per child is $1,200.
Through fund raising efforts, no child pays to attend. The camp is sponsored by the Foundation For Burns and Trauma in Phoenix.
This event starts from Goodwin Street at 7:30 a.m.. Riders travel north on Montezuma, then take Iron Springs to Skull Valley, Kirkland Junction, Wilhoit, and back to Prescott on Highway 89.
The club expects our 2010 ride to be the most successful ever thanks to generous contributions from sponsors and more participants than ever before.
Donations of gift certificates from local restaurants and businesses and bike gear fill the raffle baskets. One lucky winner will even go home with a Cannondale Bike valued at $820.
The public is invited to support the by purchasing raffle tickets. Tickets will be on sale Sunday morning at the Goodwin Street start/finish area. You must be present to win everything except the road bike. The raffle will take place at 1:30 p.m. on the square. All funds raised will be donated to the Burn Camp.
