Obituary: Debra "Debbie" K. Mortimer

Debra "Debbie" K. Mortimer, 55, passed away Oct. 25, 2010, in Prescott Valley, Ariz. Debbie was born Oct. 21, 1955, in Mishawaka, Ind., the daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Ziegert) Mortimer.

Debbie worked for the Prescott Unified School district as a bus driver for 20 years. She was a member of the Prescott Valley Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Mingus ward. Debbie loved children and enjoyed their laughter.

Debbie is survived by her loving mother and stepfather Dorothy and Reuben Slabaugh of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; brothers Rob M. Picard of Seattle, Wash., Timothy (Carol) Mortimer of Piedmont, Okla., and David A. Mortimer of Phoenix, Ariz.; and stepsister Vicky (Dan) Miller of Kentucky. Survivors also include her grandmother Ruth M. Ziegert of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; her favorite Uncle Larry (Carol) Ziegert of Phoenix, Ariz.; and her best friend Jean Krueger of Prescott, Ariz. Debbie was preceded in death by her father Robert F. Mortimer and grandfather Horace Mortimer.

A celebration of Debbie's life will be 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 7885 E. Long Look Drive, Prescott Valley, Ariz.

Arizona Wakelin Bradshaw Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
