Ray Sola set out to offer men something that is in short supply in Prescott.
After watching his fashion-buying options vanish over the past few years, Sola took it upon himself to do something about it, and opened a men's clothing store in the Old Firehouse Plaza.
Sola's Man at Leisure store is at 218. W. Goodwin St., and it's where guys can go to get a little more style in their wardrobe.
"It's basically a men's boutique," he said. "I just thought it's a worthwhile venture to fill a need in the community."
Sola's focus is in offering a selection of contemporary, casual shirts and accessories for men like hats, belts, socks and hoodies.
Sizes range from small to 2X, and Sola said his clothes are for men in their 20s and older.
Sola said his selection - unique and high-quality - gives men alternatives to the big chain department stores that carry dozens of the same shirts on the racks.
"I don't want you to meet yourself walking down the street," he said.
Sola is bolstering his stock to make his merchandise appealing at different prices, with shirts ranging from $25 to $140.
"I'm trying to have different price points so that people find what they're looking for," he said.
Some of the shirts Sola carries come with details like extra stitching, embroidery and satin.
Sola said men can wear his shirts to casual events like holiday parties or go for a more formal look.
This also gives Sola an opportunity to break out and do something on his terms.
"It's better than working for somebody else," he said.
The store is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.
