James Allen Dotson

James Allen Dotson, age 89, went home to heaven on April 22, 2010, in Prescott, Ariz.

He was born Oct. 17, 1920, in Springfield, Mo., son of Dan and Lella (Whitehead) Dotson.

Jim, as he was known to family and friends, built, owned and managed Western Hills Mobile Home Park in Prescott for 25 years before his retirement. He was a devout Christian and a charter member of the Prescott Christian church and one of the founders of United Christian youth camp here in Prescott, and served as President of Arizona Mobile Home Association. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. His family said he loved life and will be remembered by his family as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed.

Jim is survived by his wife Lillian; son Allen and daughter-in-law Amy; sisters Joyce Mortensen, Doris Collins and Phyllis Dotson Herchenroeder; and brother Gene Dotson. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Richard Utterback and Lisa Logston; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Florene; daughter Linda Marie Utterback; and sister Virginia.

A Celebration of Life service in honor of Jim will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Prescott Christian Church, 501 S. Senator Highway in Prescott, Ariz. Burial will take place at Wickenburg Cemetery in Wickenburg, Ariz.
