Angel Rodarte

Angel Rodarte, age 92, died March 12, 2010, at the Crossings Hospice Family Care in Prescott. He was born in Mexico, May 31, 1917, the son of Augustine and Isabel Rodarte.

Angel retired from Arizona Department of Transportation. He had also worked as a miner with Phelps Dodge. He enjoyed music and playing the bass fiddle with his friends. He could be found puttering around his yard. He loved kids, especially all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved his beloved "Dee" and took care of her all their 74 years together.

Angel is survived by his beloved, Demencia "Dee"; sons Angel Jr. (Lucy) and Ralph (Lucy); daughters Rosie Lopez (John) and Hortencia Diaz (Ted); 20 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; brothers Ernie (Priscilla) and Domingo; and sisters Mary Duran (Art), Amelia Rivas and Nellie Yanez. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010, with visitation one hour prior at the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home 303 S. Cortez, Prescott.

A Celebration of Life Mass will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury, Prescott.

Final Commendation and Farewell will be at Pioneer Home Cemetery.
