The Yavapai Silent Witness board of directors gave a total of $1,400 in cash rewards to seven successful callers at their meeting Tuesday.
A caller's information led Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking officers to arrest one person in Chino Valley on three drug-related charges, said Steve Skurja, program coordinator for Yavapai Silent Witness.
Officers seized $65,000 worth of marijuana, $54,600 in cash, and $178,000 in property, including a home, Skurja said.
In Prescott Valley, a caller's information led police to arrest a man on probation violations.
A caller's information helped Yavapai County Sheriff's deputies arrest six people on 11 felony charges in Cottonwood, Wilhoit, Walker and Prescott as well as recover $210 worth of methamphetamines. A person's text message provided information that led Prescott police to make an arrest, Skurja said.
"This is the first and only case made by Yavapai Silent Witness in reference to a text message," Skurja said. "It did have to do with a drug case, and there was one person arrested on two felony charges."
Skurja said the text program began this past November.
"We've received many text messages over the past few months, and we're pleased with the way the program is going," Skurja said.
With Yavapai Silent Witness, you never have to give your name, Skurja said.
If your information leads to an arrest, you will be offered a cash reward, he added.
