PRESCOTT VALLEY - A fireworks display, bonfire, an Arizona Sundogs hockey game and other festivities will take place here on New Year's Eve.
The Sundogs will host activities Friday, Dec. 31, in conjunction with the Town of Prescott Valley and Liberty Kia. The team will face the Laredo (Texas) Bucks at 7:35 p.m., and will play on New Year's Eve for the fifth year in a row.
Pre-game festivities will begin at 4 p.m. and include a bonfire that starts at 4:30 p.m., live music, inflatable playground equipment provided by Freedom Station, and a food and beverage tent with hot chocolate, cider and s'mores. A fireworks display will conclude the events at 6:20 p.m.
The Parks and Recreation Department will host the pre-game activities, which will take place on Main Street between Florentine Road and the Prescott Valley Entertainment District.
The hockey team will host a post-game skate with the players. Vouchers for the post-game skate cost $5 for season-ticket holders and $7 for all others, and are available for sale at the Sundogs' offices at 759-6600 or by visiting the team's information table on the concourse outside the Team Store during home games.
The team will sell a limited number of vouchers, and fans who buy them must attend the New Year's Eve game to be able to take part in the post-game skate.
Additionally, players will wear tuxedo-themed jerseys on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, and will conduct their first live post-game jersey auction of the season after Saturday's game. Proceeds will benefit nonprofit agencies throughout Northern Arizona.
Game tickets start at $12 and are available by phone at (866) 443-8849, online at www.GetTix.net and at the box office at Tim's Toyota Center.
