Verne William Fratt, 86, went to be with his heavenly father on June 9, 2009.

He was born in Lucerne Valley, Calif., on Feb. 15, 1923, the son of Verne Virgil Fratt and Irene Francis Boyd Fratt.

Verne was an electrician by trade, working in the Las Vegas, Nev. area, was a member of I.B.E.W., Local #357 for more than 40 years.

In December of 1941, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving his country during World War II, in the South Pacific for four years. While in the Navy, Verne did some boxing and was fortunate to have Joe Lewis (boxer) teach him some of the ropes.

Verne loved his family and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He had a great love of animals, especially his horses.

Our family wishes to express thanks to all of the staff at the Northern Arizona V.A. hospital, especially those of the C.L.C. unit #1 who gave Verne such wonderful care during his stay there. We are so very grateful to all of you. Thank you!

He is survived by his daughter Valerie Myers of Chino Valley, Ariz.; brother Charles Thomas Fratt of Bullhead City, Ariz,; granddaughter Phyllis Thompson of Chino Valley, Ariz.; step-son Quinten Fratt of Price, Utah; great-granddaughters, Morgan Thompson of Chino Valley, Ariz. and Ashley Bennett of Show Low, Ariz.; nieces, Nanette Fratt of Bullhead City, Ariz. and Suzanne McRenolds of Tehachapi, Calif.; nephew Thomas Fratt of Canon City, Colo.

No services are scheduled.

Hampton Funeral Home assisted the family with final arrangements.
