Obituary: Anna Marie Accinni Alessandro
Anna Marie Accinni Alessandro, age 91, passed away June 14, 2009, in Prescott Valley, Ariz. She was born Sept. 6, 1917, in Fairhaven, N.J., the daughter of Leonardo and Maria (Chiarella) Accinni.
Anna's family will remember her as a loving mother and grandmother who loved to cook and taught her family the Italian recipes. She was a Gold Star mother who worked for the VA as a dietician. She loved to cook for the priests at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prescott, Ariz. She was proud of her Italian heritage and loved to celebrate that with her family; she was the first born of her parents when they moved to the U.S. from Italy.
Anna is survived by her children, Joanne Rementer, Kathleen A. Reinhardt, Gigi (David) Dugan of New Jersey, Buddy and Linda Pearson of Tennessee and son Lenny Pearson. She is also survived by her sister Genevieve (Nicholas) D'Angelo of Williamstown, N.J., and five generations of family including 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Sgt. Carl J. Wanner, USAF; her grandson, Jesse Villa; one sister; and two brothers.
A visitation for family and friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at Heritage Memory Mortuary, 131 Grove Ave., Prescott, Ariz. with a Rosary at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 151 Fleury Ave., Prescott, Ariz., with Rev. Michael Reinhardt Sr. officiating at the service. A luncheon will follow the service at the church.
