Obituary: Judith Ann Pagel

Judith Ann Pagel, age 63, passed away on August 5, 2009 in Prescott, Ariz. She was born on Oct. 14, 1945 in Grand Junction, Colo. to Dow and Lois Williams.

Judith was a graduate of Central High School in Grand Junction and later received a Bachelor of Science in Sociology at Arizona State University; Creative Arts Therapy at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York; and a Masters of Education from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Ariz. Judith made her career as a Counselor and Child Advocate, she was also the Founder and Director of the F.O.C.U.S. Program. During her career, she received many awards: The Golden Galaxy Manager Recruitment, National Tupperware Award twice, in 1970 and 1971; The Child Advocate Award as Founder of the Family Opportunity Center in 1993 and the 1993 Child Advocate Award as Founder of the University for Parents.

Judith was very community minded and missed no opportunity as a community volunteer. Her hobbies included being a master gardener, she enjoyed jewelry making, reading, writing, painting, drawing, playing the piano and playing cards. Her family was very important to her.

Judith is survived by her loving husband, Neil Pagel; her mother, Lois Waller; her children: Michael Morrison, Christopher Morrison and Michelle Burnett; her grandchildren, Melissa Harbertson, Shon Morrison, Dylan Morrison, Julia Morrison, Alex Brazeal, Zachary Burnett and Brandon Burnett.

Services for Judith will be noon Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009 at the Windmill House, 1460 W. Road 4 North in Chino Valley, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Judith's name to the Hospice Family Care, Inc., 100 E. Sheldon St, Suite 100, Prescott, AZ 86301.

Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
