PV P&Z looks into zoning change request for land off Valley Road

PRESCOTT VALLEY - The Prescott Valley Planning and Zoning Commission will conduct a public hearing this week on a zoning change request from Fain Signature Group and the Fain Land and Cattle Co. involving 230 acres off Valley Road.

At 5:30 p.m. Monday, inside council chambers in the Civic Center at 7501 E. Civic Circle, the commission will discuss the request, which, if approved, would switch the zoning of those acres from RCU-70 residential to M1-PAD industrial and M2-PAD heavy industrial for planned area developments.

The land is located on the north and south sides of Valley Road between Mendecino Drive and Fain Road on the eastern edge of town, north of Highway 69.

Beforehand, the commission will conduct a public hearing about the Humboldt Unified District's request for zoning changes on parcels at four of its school sites.

These include:

• Bradshaw Mountain Middle School, 12255 E. Turquoise Circle in Dewey-Humboldt: changing about 40 acres from low-density residential to public lands zoning.

• Bradshaw Mountain East High School, 6411 N. Robert Road: changing about 192 acres from residential to public lands zoning.

• Viewpoint School site, North Viewpoint Road at Poquito Valley Road: changing about 9.5 acres from residential to public lands zoning.

• Granville Elementary School, 5250 N. Stover Drive: changing about 20.5 acres from low-density residential to public lands zoning.
