Arts Prescott presents work of Bob Boze Bell

"Hip, historically accurate and exciting" is how some describe the work of Old West speaker, humorist, artist and illustrator Bob Boze Bell.

The Arts Prescott Cooperative Gallery at 134 S. Montezuma will present "Arizona Wit, Humor and Western Stuff," paintings and illustrations by Bell, June 16 through July 14.

Originally from Kingman, Bell published six books on subjects like Wyatt Earp, Billy the Kid, Doc Holliday and his latest, "Classic Gunfights, Volume II," published in 2005.

In 1999, Bell purchased Old West magazine with two friends, moving the editorial offices to Cave Creek. Now in its 52nd year, the magazine features the style of Bell's distinctive vision.

Bell has contributed to the History Channel, Discovery Channel and the Western Channel.

The gallery will hold a reception for the show 6 to 8 p.m., 4th Friday Art Walk night, June 27.
