Prescott Police and Yavapai Silent Witness are asking the public for help in finding a man who allegedly brutally raped and assaulted a Prescott woman in the early morning hours on July 27.
Police say a dark-complected man in his early 20s approached the woman in the 100 block of West Carleton Street. The victim described the man at about 5'10" with a short buzzed haircut and wearing a dark shirt.
The man walked up to the woman and struck her in the face several times breaking her nose and blacking both eyes. He forced her into a small silver car and drove to an area off Senator Highway where he raped her.
The man took her purse and pushed her out of the car. The woman walked in bare feet along Senator Highway until she came to a house where someone helped her.
Police said that a few hours later, someone used the woman's stolen credit card twice to purchase gas at the Prescott Valley Express Stop off Highway 69.
The woman saw several cars pass her while she was walking on Senator Highway. She said that cars drove by Carlton Street during the assault and kidnapping.
