Leo Gale Elkins died Oct. 23, 2007, in Prescott Valley, Ariz. He was born Sept. 7, 1917, in Fisher, Ill. to Joseph and Flora (Mounts) Elkins.

Leo was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years Ella Florence Elkins.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda (David) Novak and Jamee Rooker both of Prescott, Ariz.; grandchildren Andrea (Jay), Aimee, Robin and Jason; great-grandchildren, Claire and Carter.

Leo was a 32nd Degree Mason of The Sangamon Lodge in Fisher, Ill., first president of AMVETS, Fisher, Ill., a lifetime member of the Shriner's and Elks Lodge and lifetime member of The American Legion Post 3 in Flagstaff, Ariz. He was a proud World War II veteran who served in North Africa.

Leo Elkins was admired and respected by all who knew him and was proudest of his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Leo's life will take place Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, from 4 to 8 p.m. at 311 S. Mount Vernon, Prescott, Ariz.

Inurnment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, N.M., at a later date.

Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family in making their final arrangements.
