A blog excerpt from Courier Online Editor John Kamin:
Okay, so it's been too long since I've written a local music blog. But, yesterday, Prescott Newspapers' Web guru Javier Gonzalez and I had the pleasure of videotaping an excellent barbershop quartet named "Worth Waiting 4."
The group is a mix of four ladies with golden voices, who all have experience singing with professional groups for years. The ladies all have experience singing for chorale groups, and their "newbie" has been with the quartet for two years.
Needless to say, they've perfected their ability to harmonize through many hours of tough practice.
They literally sit around a table with their sheet music in hand, and figure out who's missing what part. Sometimes if the singing is perfect but the song still doesn't sound right, they'll literally rewrite the arrangement for a better-sounding key.
Some folks create groups like this out of boredom. Others do it because they've got great talent and need an outlet for it.
Worth Waiting 4 is definitely doing it because they're chock full of talent.
