Joan (Hall) Vallely

Joan (Hall) Vallely passed away May 7, 2007, in Prescott. She was born toLoys and Louise Wheeler on January 15, 1929, in Prescott where her father had a homestead claim in Groom Creek.

Orphaned at an early age, Joan was raised by Mattie Blanton and her family in their boarding house on GroveAvenue in Prescott. Matt Hall, a miner and veteran peace officer, who resided at the Blanton home as a boarder, adopted Joan when she was 4 years old so that he could provide for her financial support. He preceded herin death in 1939.

Joan attended St. Joseph's Academy and Prescott public schools and graduated from Prescott High School in 1947. She was employed byMountain Bell Telephone Company for 29 years as a telephone operator before retiring in 1984.

Joan and Bill Vallely married in 1952 and they celebrated 52 years together until Bill passed away in 2004. She dearly loved him and her family and considered them her greatest treasure in life,

Joan is survived by six children, Hugh Vallely of Van Vleck, Texas, Bill Vallely (Nancy) of Prescott Valley, Tim Vallely (Pam), Carol McFadden (George), Terry Vallely (Kathy) and Sue Beyea (Bob) of Prescott; as wellas 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A Rosary was said at Sacred Heart Church at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2007.

Funeral services will be at Sacred Heart Church 9 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2007.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Prescott Education Foundation, Athletic Department Fund/PHS Hall of Fame, 125 N. Granite Street, Prescott, AZ 86301.

The Hampton Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Frederick Henry Yeager

Frederick Henry Yeager, 86, died May 9, 2007, in Prescott, Arizona. He was born May 26, 1920, in Queens, New York, to Frederick and Mary (Schmitt) Yeager.

Frederick was preceded in death by his loving wife, Alvina. He is survived by his devoted son, Donald, his wife, Sally and his granddaughter, Jessica; fond sister-in-law, Ernie Riley and her husband, Joe; beloved Uncle to Donna Davis and Bill Ponath and their families; "honorary family member" to Dennis and Judie Ruff; also to the Darlene and Lucky Hodgdon family.

A visitation in honor of Frederick will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Sunrise Funeral Home in Prescott Valley, Arizona.

Frederick will be buried next to his wife, Alvina, in Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, New York.

Samuel F. Vangalio

Samuel F. Vangalio, 81, of Geneseo, New York, passed away May 10, 2007, in Geneseo.

He is survived by his wife Margaret (Bellanca) Vangalio; son Michael (Judy) Vangalio of Newbury, Ohio; daughter Anne Hawley of Geneseo, New York; grandson Joey Vangalio of Newbury, Ohio; granddaughter Emma Vangalio of Newbury, Ohio; sister Carolyn (Norm) Kilbourne of Brockport, New York; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his godchild and niece Marianne Vangalio of Prescott, Arizona.

Mr. Vangalio was born the son of James and Geraldine Vangalio of Geneseo, New York. Mr. Vangalio was a World War II veteran who served his country well. He will be remembered for his service at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Geneseo and for his sense of humor, love of golf, music and dance.

Services will be Monday, May 14, 2007, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Geneseo, New York.
