Victor E. Christensen, 87 of Jacksonville, Fla., passed away peacefully on Aug. 13, 2007, at his home. Born March 19, 1920, in Hot Springs, S.D., the son of the late Samuel V. and Bessie (Carty) Christensen.
Victor retired from NASA in 1978 after 38 years of civil service. He served on the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, Sky Lab and Space Shuttle programs as a Chief Health Administrator. He and his late wife, Viola. of 58 years resided in Titusville, Fla., and upon retirement moved to Prescott Valley, Ariz., until her death in 2001.
He is survived by his son, retired Navy Captain Dennis and his wife, Cindy of Middleburg, Fla.; daughter, Dr. Sharon Clark and her husband, Mark of Huntington Beach, Calif.; grandchildren, Gretchen Stansberry and her husband, Billy and Heidi Christensen all of Jacksonville, Barry Clark and his wife, Misty of California, Nathan Clark and his wife Laura of Colorado; six great-grandchildren.
Private services will be in Titusville and Prescott Valley at a later date.
