Ms. Elaine "Jerry" Deloris Sandri

Ms. Elaine "Jerry" Deloris Sandri, age 80, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, March 23rd, 2006, in Prescott Valley, Arizona.

Jerry was born in Flint, Michigan, on Oct. 23rd, 1925.

She traveled by train to Wickenburg, Arizona, at the age of 17 where she met her husband, Mr. Al Angelo Sandri. Jerry and Al moved to Prescott in 1945 and worked on several local ranches where they were very involved in the Prescott ranching community. Jerry was employed at the Arizona Pioneers' Home as a CNA for 10 years.

In 1976 Jerry and her husband Al relocated to the Arizona Highway Needle Mountain Maintenance Camp, located in Topock, Arizona, where she worked for the Arizona Port of Entry.

Jerry was widowed in Topock on December 29th, 1983. She immediately returned to Prescott to be with her family and friends. Jerry lived in the Prescott area for over 50 years. She enjoyed western dancing and often visited the Elk's Club in Prescott Valley on Friday evenings, kicking up her cowgirl boots with her best friend and 15-year companion, Mr. Woodrow "Woody" Garside. Jerry always looked her best and dressed to impress, she was a true beauty. She had several hobbies; painting, gardening, and socializing with special friends were her favorites.

Jerry is survived by her loving companion, Mr. Woody Garside who is now an honorary member of her remaining family and her sister Ms. Nancy Shellhaas of Flint, Michigan. She is also survived by her only daughter, Ms. Gail Sisson of Prescott, Arizona; her two grandchildren, Ms. Shawn Hinshaw of Bellevue, Washington, and Mr. Bryce Sisson of Flagstaff, Arizona. Jerry recently attended the wedding of her only grandson, Bryce on Saturday, March 18th, 2006, and thus had the pleasure of spending time with his new wife Michele Sisson and her 3-year-old great-granddaughter, Julia.

A celebration of Jerry's life will be held in the Museum Center at Sharlot Hall Museum on Sunday, March 26th from 4 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sharlot Hall Museum. Jerry wanted to preserve Arizona's history and was very pleased when her daughter, Gail, found such good friends and a wonderful support network through her work at the museum. Hampton Funeral Home, and Butch Hampton, a longtime family friend assisted with the arrangements.
