10/26/2009 10:03:00 PM Letter: Pie social succeeds with many helpers
EDITOR:
The 2009 Skull Valley Pie Social was again a huge success, thanks to the help of all the men and women in the Historical Society who donated their time, pies and ice cream.
A big thanks to all the local people of Skull Valley who donated pie and ice cream.
We thank the Skull Valley Church for the use of its chairs again this year. Thanks to the Harrises for the use of their pie safe and ice chests. We would be lost without the use of these things.
Thanks to Ron Downing we had a wonderful turnout with the Prescott Antique Tractors. Loren Phippen came with his Model T Club from Phoenix. Also thanks to the Buckey O'Neill Roughriders. Thanks again to the arts and crafts people who showed their wares. We had some exceptional artist and crafters.
"EXTRA TOUCH" provided the music. They are always a big hit, and we hope to see them again next year.
"The Material Girls" quilting group put on a wonderful quilt show in the community hall. They were responsible for much of the publicity that went out again this year by putting out flyers advertising the pie social. They sold tickets for the beautiful quilt they donated the Society. The quilt drawing will be at the January meeting.
A special thanks to all who set up the grounds on Friday, manned the museums, served pie and ice cream, manned the lemonade stand and stayed to clean up on both Saturday and Sunday. Again it would not have been a success without everyone working together for the Historical Society.
