Canadian musical phenomenon Leahy brings its high-energy, genre-spanning music, with a special Celtic Christmas flavor, to the Yavapai College Performance Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4.

Leahy is a Canadian powerhouse of eight musical brothers and sisters who have been playing together their entire lives. The band's three acclaimed CDs - "Leahy," "Lakefield," and "In All Things" - have worldwide sales of over half a million copies.

While they are known for their mastery of traditional and Celtic music, Leahy's sound is impossible to pigeonhole in a single genre. They've won awards across a wide spectrum - Junos (Canadian Grammys) for Best New Group, Best Country Group, and Best Instrumental Album, the most played folk/roots song in Canada in 2004 and the Socan Award for folk/jazz instrumentalist the following year.

Tickets for this show are $40/$38. Purchase tickets online at www.tickets.com (search for "Yavapai College"). Tickets may also be purchased by phone at 776-2000 (toll-free 1-877-928-4253), Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., or in person at the YC Community Events ticket office located in the lobby of the YC Performance Hall, Thursday and Friday only, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Yavapai College Performance Hall is located on the Prescott campus at 1100 E. Sheldon St.
