A CHRISTMAS CAROL 3D - This 3-D adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic tells the story of a selfish businessman who sees the error of his ways thanks to three ghosts. Cast: Jim Carrey, Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Bob Hoskins. Rated PG for scary sequences and images. Animated/family.

COUPLES RETREAT - Four midwestern couples take a trip to a tropical island resort, but soon discover that participation in the resort's couples therapy is not optional. Cast: Vince Vaughn, Kristen Bell, Jason Bateman, Malin Akerman. Rated PG-13 for sexual content and language. Comedy.

THE FOURTH KIND - Over the last four decades, people have been disappearing from a small Alaskan town. Is it aliens? A government conspiracy? Or something else? PARANORMAL ACTIVITY - A couple's attempt to film a malevolent spirit in their house only makes it angrier. Cast: Katie Featherston, Micah Sloat. Rated R for language. Horror/thriller.

WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE - Innovative director Spike Jonze brings one of the most beloved books of all time to the big screen in this classic story about Max, a rambunctious and sensitive boy who feels misunderstood at home and escapes to where the Wild Things are. Cast: Paul Dano, Forest Whitaker, Michelle Williams, Catherine Keener. Rated PG for mild thematic elements, some adventure action and brief language. Fantasy/Family.
