Tim Carter
Special to the Courier
Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter is the new First Vice President of the Arizona Association of Counties.
All elected county officials in Arizona are eligible to vote for this office. Carter took the oath of office Dec. 4 during the AACo Winter Conference at the Arizona State University Memorial Union.
The AACo employs a "progressive presidency," and Carter will be president of the association in 2011. He has represented Yavapai College on the AACo Board of Directors for four years and currently chairs the finance committee.
After retiring as principal of Prescott High School, the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors appointed Carter school superintendent in 2005. Voters elected him to the position in 2006 and 2008.
AACo is the only state organization that represents all county officials and the governments they serve in the state. Founded in 1968, AACo provides essential services to the state's counties. AACo advances issues with the state and federal government, improves the public understanding of county governments, assists counties in finding and sharing innovative solutions through education and research, and provides value-added services to save counties and taxpayers money.

I second the statement about Mr. Carter being dedicated to the students however I would add that Tim's dedication goes beyond the students and reaches a variety of community needs.
