Williams, Tusayan campgrounds close for season
Special to the Courier

The Williams and Tusayan ranger districts of the Kaibab National Forest have closed their campgrounds for the season.

Ten-X Campground on the Tusayan Ranger District is closed, while the lake campgrounds on the Williams Ranger District, including Cataract, Dogtown, Kaibab and White Horse, are open for day-use but closed to overnight camping.

Day-use is allowed at all of the lakes between dawn and dusk.

Cataract and White Horse campgrounds have walk-in only access, while Dogtown and Kaibab lake campgrounds have drive-in access, including access to the boat ramps.

Kaibab National Forest managers remind visitors that it is always illegal to hunt inside developed recreation sites.

For information, call the Williams district at 928-635-5600 and/or Tusayan at 928-638-2443.
