PRESCOTT - Two Central Arizona Land Trust events focusing on ranching and open space will take place next month.
On Friday, Nov. 6, the land trust and the Arizona Cooperative Extension will conduct a "Ranching in the Future" workshop from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Walnut Creek Station.
The workshop will cover topics such as: models and methods of land and estate preservation; agricultural conservation easements and land trusts; the State Land Department's role in land protection; and rural planning areas.
The event also will feature a panel discussion on conservation easements.
A press release from the land trust notes that the workshop "is designed to help rural families keep and preserve their landholdings into the future," adding that the event is open to property owners, "whether you're a rancher or merely a landowner."
The no-cost workshop will include lunch. Those interested in attending should RSVP no later than Nov. 2 by calling 928-899-4595 or emailing erikg@ag.arizona.edu, or by contacting CALT via email at www.centralazlandtrust.org.
