The Daily Courier
Property owners in seven school districts will see an additional school tax on their 2009 tax bills - Mountain Institute/JTED.
The Mountain Institute is the official name of the Joint Technological Education District voters in the Bagdad, Ash Fork, Seligman, Chino Valley, Prescott, Humboldt and Mayer school districts approved in the November 2008 General Election.
Voters approved, by a vote of 2 to 1 a tax of $0.05 per $100 secondary assessed valuation.
Anyone wanting additional information concerning the Mountain Institute JTED tax should call the district office at 928-771-0791, not the number on the back of the tax notice.

Cheap!
This is chump change. I spend more than this yearly tax on lunch for my wife and I at In & Out Burger. From what I read it will be put to good use. What I love is the old folks that gripe about paying for schools here. Who paid for your schools back in California or Illinois? If you don't like it head for Sun City where there aren't any schools. Seeya!

Just another rip off, thanks to all you that voted yes
The amount of tax collected to support Yavapai college is absurd. Let adults pay for their own education, stop soaking the tax payers.

We need to spend the money to train people to do jobs that do not exist in this area.
