The Memorial Society of Prescott, a non-profit, educational organization, dedicated to dignified, meaningful and affordable funerals, is seeking volunteers to staff the office on Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m. Training provided. The Arizona Red Cross has volunteer needs in disaster volunteers and office workers. Disaster Action Team Members provide on-call, immediate assistance to victims of local disasters such as house fires or flooding. On call duties are typically one out of every four weeks and include providing emergency food, clothing and shelter to victims of the disaster. Office Worker assists by answering phones, organizing volunteer recognition events, recruits and supports new volunteers. Hospice Family Care is recruiting volunteers for all of Yavapai county. Hospice exists to provide dignified and compassionate care to persons and their families experiencing a life-limiting illness. Granite Mountain Home Care and Hospice is currently accepting applications for hospice volunteers. The Center Adult Day Services in Prescott needs a volunteer (or couple) to work one half-day a week to keep its small patio garden neat and clean. Volunteers play a vital role in providing support to victims of crime, including sexual assault, domestic violence, and robbery, homicide, and child abuse. Volunteers offer emotional support, court advocacy, and other assistance to crime victims and their families. They provide extensive training in victim's rights and the criminal justice system. AARP needs volunteers for the AARP Driver Safety Program. Participants will receive initial training and participate in annual or semiannual instructor workshops to maintain and enhance their skills.
