Prescott area unemployment rate rises

The tri-city's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose again in October.

The Arizona Department of Economic Security is reporting that the Prescott area's rate rose from 9.5 percent in September to 9.6 percent in October. To put it into perspective, the tri-city unemployment rate was 6.5 percent in October 2008.

The national rate rose from 9.8 percent in September to 10.2 percent in October.

The Phoenix area rate rose from 8.5 percent in September to 8.7 percent in October.

Lake Havasu City/Kingman's unemployment rate went from 10.6 percent in September to 10.8 percent in October and Yuma's rate rose from 20.9 percent to 22.8 percent.
