'Ed' Hiser played many roles - even a news reporter
There's no way to confirm this, of course, but I have this vision of the pearly gates being flung wide open in welcome to Ervin D. "Ed" Hiser.

Column: Lindbergh answered all the king's questions
The flying bug bit Charles Lindbergh in 1922, a mere two months after his 20th birthday, and the resulting affliction of "aerodromeitis" (my term, so you need not consult Webster's for relief) that gripped the young man proved to be life-long.

Social Security teases your brain
January is International Brain Teasers Month. What better time than now to test your knowledge and learn a few things at the same time? With that in mind (pun intended), tease your brain with these bits of Social Security trivia.

Column: Dentist hailed from the birthplace of ant-scalding
Dr. Joe Funke was my dentist back in 1996 when I returned to Prescott, and he did a good job of preserving the teeth that I had left after some six decades of addictive abuse brought on by a massive consumption of such irresistibles as Baby Ruths, Milky Ways, Hershey bars, Tootsie Rolls and Milk Duds. Yeah, Joe did good work - and at a reasonable price - while lacing his language with laid-back levity.

Be you Democrat or Republican, I would invite you to join me in expressing justifiable anger - and disbelief - at what has been going on in Washington.
