Dustin Johnson takes leave of absence from golf
AKRON, Ohio - Dustin Johnson is taking a leave of absence from golf to seek help for what he said were "personal challenges."

While the statement he released through his management company offered no details, Johnson would not be at the PGA Championship next week at Valhalla Golf Club and could miss the Ryder Cup.

THE FORMAT AT QUAILWOOD Greens men's club was red, white & blue 3 man scramble. The winners were: 1st place tied Dave Janz, Dave Cortez, Frank Knowles & Don Nace, Larry McKenzie, Bill Wenner. 3rd place Larry Fisher, Ken kies, Terry Fuller. 4th place tied Dennis Aust, Bill Robertson, Dick Denogean & Nick Proefrock, John Holland, Pete Peterson. 'Hot ball' is the new format for Antelope Hills men's golf club
THE ANTELOPE HILLS MEN'S Golf Club played on the South course this past Wednesday and the play of the day was a new format in which each four-man team was given a "hot ball" that rotated on every hole to a different player, then the "hot ball" and the low net from one of the other three players was used to determine the winning team.

PRESCOTT COUNTRY CLUB'S Men's Club's event on July 23 was an Eclectic (Better your Score). A flight winners 1st place was Wayne Melquist net score of 63. 2nd place was a tie between Rich Marsik and Dominick Lomedico net score of 64. B flight winners were 1st place Joe Manzi net score 61. 2nd place winners was a tie between Darrell King, Mike Hulshof and Gray Wolfe net score of 63. C flight winners was a tie for 1st Lee Denning and Jim Burton net score of 65.

THE ANTELOPE HILLS MEN'S Golf Club chose the North Course to play a Medal Play Tournament on Monday. Fifty-one players participated. In the first flight, a familiar name, Rick Davis, shot an even par 72 to capture low gross honors.

Jarrod Lyle 11 strokes back in US return
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Jarrod Lyle shot a 3-under 68 on Saturday in the Web.com Tour's Midwest Classic, leaving the Australian 11 strokes behind Zack Sucher in his first U.S. event since his second bout with leukemia

The 32-year-old Lyle was tied for 23rd at 9-under 204 at Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate. He eagled the par-4 18th for a back-nine 31.

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Inbee Park and So Yeon Ryu both birdied the first playoff hole Saturday as South Korea eliminated the top-seeded United States and earned a wild-card berth in the final round of the International Crown.

The Koreans will join Spain, Thailand, Japan and Sweden on Sunday in a duel for title.
