4/21/2012 10:17:00 PM 50th Anniversary: Trudy Caroline Sohl and Richard (Dick) Wayne Clark
Trudy Caroline Sohl and Richard (Dick) Wayne Clark were married 50 years ago in the First Presbyterian Church in Stockton, Calif., on Feb. 25, 1962. Mutual friend Casey Klooster introduced the couple at a Delta College Christmas dance in December 1960. At the time of their introduction, the bride was in her senior year at Amos Alonzo Stagg High School and the groom was attending Delta College.
Upon graduation from the California Highway Patrol Academy in Sacramento, Calif., in 1964, Richard was assigned to the West Los Angeles area for one year and returned to Stockton to complete his 32-year career with the CHP. Along the way, he worked as a stagehand on movies and concerts and his hobbies included woodworking and gardening. The couple shares a love of boating and enjoyed many an hour on their 20-foot Gulfstream.
Trudy retired after 30 years with the county of San Joaquin as a courtroom clerk for San Joaquin Superior Court, after having previously served as a legal secretary and judicial secretary before being promoted to courtroom clerk. She served on the board of directors for the San Joaquin Humane Society for three years.
After both retired, they explored Arizona and decided to settle in Prescott due to the mild weather, location and friendly atmosphere.
The couple recently returned from a 28-day Panama Canal cruise celebrating their anniversary.
