U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick is conducting a series of "tele-town halls" that run Nov. 3 through Dec. 8.
The public can join in on the telephone discussions by dialing 877-269-7289 and pressing 15024 when prompted. Then they can ask questions by pressing *3.
The town hall subjects and times include:
Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 5-6 p.m. - "Restoring Fiscal Discipline." People will talk about how the federal government can reduce spending and start to pay down the national debt.
Monday, Nov. 9 at 5:10-6:10 p.m. - "Keeping Our Promises to Our Veterans."
Thursday, Nov. 19 at 5:10-6:10 p.m. - "Maintaining and Protecting Our Second Amendment Rights."
Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 5:10-6:10 p.m. - "Improving the Quality of Life for Older Americans."
These are issues that First Congressional District voters have said are especially important to them, according to a press release from Kirkpatrick's office.
Kirkpatrick's office said she was planning to schedule a health care town hall in Prescott before health care legislation comes to a vote in the House, but she was unable to do so.
The vote could come as early as the end of this week, and Kirkpatrick hasn't yet stated how she will vote.

Tea Bags?
Hey Christopher, What are you talking about "Tea Bags"? are you referring to honest non- DNC paid protesters? So, a legitimate protester is only one that has been organized and paid for by the liberals?

Accountability is Everything
Who here right now can honestly say how she will vote on the most important bills in Congress? Will she stand up to Speaker Pelosi when the speaker is wrong?

Voter
I voted for Ann and I feel cheated right now, I'm not one to have our rep communicate only through a telephone. Why not have her visit Prescott and at least hold a seminar at Tim's Toyota Center and tell us what is going on with jobs, heathcare, budget etc. I really don't care if she takes questions or not. If she ends up not performing for the people we all have the right to make changes next time we vote. I don't vote on party lines, I vote for who will do the job best for what we need in our state. Ann don't close the door on us.

She is just human!
My husband and I visited her at the Flagstaff fair for a long time and I know she is really trying to make things better but her hands are tied in some areas.

Sounds like a lot of people are disappointed they won't get to yell and scream at her and call her dirty names.

Heavens, yes! Why on earth would Ann K. not put herself in a public forum where idiotic, fascist, non-thinking radical conservatives can hurl tamatos and epithets?!

Maybe, if she received assurances from the Tea Bags they would remain civil, then maybe we can get back to a civil discourse with meetings in person. There is no point in having a meeting, if mob rule mentality takes hold. Ann, vote for the health care bill. Once the fear goes and these folks figure out they have been played for chumps by corporate add men and senators for sale, and the benefits of health insurance reform are implemented, the Tea Bag nonsense will abate.

"Vote FOR" J's ... "agenda and strengthen" Z's "Future for Everyone". Your intentions are laudable but you simply have no concept of reality beyond a tainted vision. So convinced you are correct and your truths are so obvious and reasonable to those that think critically. The revolving of history is more a constant than light.

Hey Ann, your pants are on fire
Fun watching Ann move frantically to the right anticipating the 2010 election. Also, I'm not buying she "planned" to hold a town hall prior to the health care vote. Whom is she trying to kid? I'd respect her more if she was just honest.

Control the message, limit interaction. Don't address the real issues (bills such as healthcare & cap and trade).
These diversions and limitations on free speech are the hallmarks of the Kirkpatrick tenure in office.

Whatever happened to a real townhall meeting versus this press#3 on your phone for an elctronic townhall jazz?
Unable to have a real townhall meeting over health care? Right. Sorry Ann. One term only.

DO the Right Thing, ANN!!
Yup, Pandering to area Republican extremists in her district, is inherently Dangerous. It sure does conflict with, actually "Doing the Right thing" and Voting FOR Health-care Reform which is the current Major Issue for ALL District Democrats that Voted Her into Office, and the Nation.
Protect Obscene Insurnace Corporation Profits (Vote WITH Kyl & McCain?) at the expense of Average Americans? Or Vote FOR Democrat's progressive agenda and strengthen America's Future for Everyone?
Seems Real straight forward to me, I hope Congress-woman Kirkpatrick sees Health-care Reform as Clearly & Honestly as the Majority of us do.

And How much time has she had to do so?
