By Jerry Herrmann
The Daily Courier

Members of the Chino Valley Mayor's Ad Hoc Economic Development Committee Tuesday will see a slideshow Town Manager Jerry Stricklin prepared showing how Wickenburg developed its downtown area.

The committee meets at 2 p.m. Nov. 3 in the Council Chambers at 1020 W. Palomino Road.

Other items on the agenda include:

• A report by Ab Jackson, Chino Valley Area Chamber of Commerce CEO, on discussions with LaTonya Finch from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway.

• A report from committee members on discussions they had with large landowners off Perkinsville Road on a possible land lease for a solar farm.

• A discussion on perquisites and incentives for prospective businesses to promote economic development in Chino Valley that the committee may want to recommend to the Town Council.

• A presentation of photographs from committee members pertaining to branding and the use of branding in the development of a proposed downtown for Chino Valley.

Tired. You need to learn a little bit before you start spouting off. The poor roads "west of Reed Rd." as you describe are Yavapai County roads which are not the Town's responsibility. Complain to the new Town of Williamson Valley, they seem to know all about roads.

A downtown Chino Valley? They might want to start with fixing the horrible roads west of Reed Rd. Rd. 2 North for starters. What's this have to do with a proposed downtown? Well, people need good roads to get to "downtown" don't they?!
