Williamson Valley: Community watchdog groups merge
The Daily Courier

Williamson Valley Corridor Plan Inc. and Friends of Williamson Valley have merged, according to a press release from WVCP Inc. Media Committee Chairman Richard Clark.

WVCP Inc. is responsible for writing the Williamson Valley Corridor Plan and submitting it to Yavapai County. FWV acts as a watchdog for the community and is a plaintiff in a lawsuit against the county for not following its General Plan.

The members of the two organizations are proposing Williamson Valley Community Organization as the new name for the combined groups. However, the new name is not official until WVCP Inc.'s voting members approve.

Any money FWV collected to pay for the lawsuit against the county will remain in the group's legal defense account.

"With the Williamson Valley Corridor Plan now in the hands of Yavapai County for approval, it is an opportune time for these two groups to leverage their strengths for the good of the community," said Ken Mino, president of WVCP Inc. "The Williamson Valley community is made up of a variety of neighborhoods with diverse interests and, with the WVC Plan complete, it is time to look out for the interests of this great community."

WVCP Inc. will conduct its annual meeting from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21, in the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University auditorium at 3700 Willow Creek Road in Prescott.

The meeting is open to all WVCP members and anyone interested in becoming a member.

Information about the merger and the new organization's plans are available at www.wvcpinc.org.

When I was asked if I could attend a FWV meeting I was told "you can not come because you do not think like us." I requested to be put on their email list twice- I never was. Why would I want to support a group with that attitude? I will not sign my name because they retailiate.

The group is comprised of people who have nothing better to do with their time & money. They collected money to pay for a lawsuit against the county. Let's forget about the poor, hungry, homeless and the sick children and lets spend our money on lawyers and lawsuits. That is the FWV way, the group is an abomination. Let's NOT forget that the county has to spend TAX PAYER MONEY to higher lawyers to fight FWV. So it is OUR tax money they are wasting.
