The Daily Courier
CHINO VALLEY - The Chino Valley Town Council Thursday will consider a resolution to begin annexation of 3,783 acres, including 4.5 sections of State Trust Land, north of existing corporate limits and west of Highway 89.
When it meets Thursday at 6 p.m. inside town hall at 1020 W. Palomino Road, the council will decide whether to have town staff file paperwork with the Arizona State Land Department to advance the process.
Also on Thursday, the council may approve the final plat for the Chino Valley Town Center, a 41.75-acre commercial subdivision formerly known as Johnson Farm.
Jim Fletcher has proposed a 23-lot subdivision for the center located on the northeast corner of East Road 1 South and Highway 89.
In addition, the council will look at the preliminary plat for the 60-lot Colonial Villas subdivision - a 15.32-acre property east of North Road 1 East and south of East Road 2 North.
IN OTHER BUSINESS:
The Council may approve the fiscal year 2007-08 library service agreement between the Yavapai County Library District and the town. If council agrees to the deal, the Chino Valley Public Library would receive $104,494 for its operations.
The Council may approve a $14,200 contract with water resource consultant E.L. Montgomery and Associates to complete an application with the Arizona Department of Water Resources.
The town hopes ADWR will issue Chino Valley an Analysis of Assured Water Supply Certificate.
The certificate would show 8,000 acre-feet of total potential groundwater withdrawal from the Garlic Farm near Paulden, where the town eventually wants to start building a water pipeline.
