6/14/2010 9:53:00 PM Prescott library to undergo upgrades June 25-30
The Daily Courier
Prescott Public Library will experience an interruption in its service from June 25-30 while the Yavapai Library Network upgrades its library system.
Patrons are reminded to bring their library cards with them when they visit the library, because this will help staff and minimize inconvenience for patrons. Library staff will continue to help people find what they are looking for, and customers will still be able to check out and renew library materials. Library cards will be necessary to check out items and use computers.
During these few days, staff will not be able to place or fill holds on library materials. Most electronic resources, including OverDrive, the library catalog and Heritage Quest, will not be available from home, but will be available to people who come to the library to use its computers.
Many electronic resources - including the Auto Repair Reference Center, Consumer Reports and the World Almanac - will still be available via databases provided by the Arizona State Library. Just go to the Prescott Public Library home page, www.prescottlibrary.info, click on Research, then on AZ Statewide Databases in the A-Z List. All you need to log in is an Arizona zip code.
The new Yavapai Library Network should be up and running by July 1.
Prescott Public Library is located at 215 E. Goodwin St., and the Prescott Gateway Branch is at the Gateway Mall between Barnes & Noble and Sears.
