They claim to be the tallest twins in the entertainment business, but they certainly are making a name for themselves in the Prescott area.

Recent Prescott Valley transplants, Los Angeles-bred Diana and Dawn Meier both stand at 6'2", and have marketed themselves to a variety of film and television productions over the past 20 years.

Diana said she worked part-time as an actor close to 20 years, coupled with projects like her own cable show, a radio show during a stint living in New Zealand, and a few years playing professional basketball in England, Sweden, Spain, and New Zealand.

Both graduated from UC Irvine in environmental studies, and Dawn went on to earn a masters degree in urban regional planning and has since consulted and worked for environmental projects.

The pair relocated around this past January, mostly because of the air quality, Diana said.

They launched a public awareness campaign to eradicate toxic mold in California in 2001 that led to the Mold Protection Act, documented in Diana's website www.moldgoddess.com.

The two, who recently turned 47, moved into the same place, the first time in 25 years, Diana said, picking Prescott Valley through a combination of circumstances involving the advice of a psychic and a random acquaintance in Sedona.

"We took a couple of trips out here and just loved it," she said.

Diana said she currently works for the county at five kindergarten through 6th-grade schools as a physical education teacher and trainer teaching teachers and students techniques on "how to get your brain working better."

She hopes to coach basketball at Granite Mountain Middle School, possibly with her sister as assistant coach.

"We were basketball stars in high school. I averaged 19 points a game. Diana averaged 20. So, we did really good. We got scholarships from UC Irvine," Dawn said.

Dawn currently volunteers with the Prescott Valley Parks Department and wants to work for the city or possibly the Forest Service.

Diana said she has a small part as a police officer in a television drama airing in September called "The Starter Wife," and is trying to get her and her sister on "Deal or No Deal."

Credits for the two of them together include three guest appearances on "The Montel Williams Show," she said, adding that the first role she got in an audition was playing the gym teacher "Inga" on "Who's the Boss."

Dawn said the simpler life style and less time driving to get places since moving to the area has allowed them more time to volunteer.

"We did the Special Olympics, we went to a whole bunch of town meetings, we did the cleanup, and I just signed up for the Park Ranger thing," she said, adding that the two helped organize the 2nd annual Southwest Twins and Multiples Festival in Prescott Valley this past June.

"I think we have more friends in the short amount of time here than we've ever had."

And this is in the paper why? Because they are tall?

Dear Logan, You are so funny! Thanks for the laugh about the weeds, etc. (my sister is picking them all the time!) We know it takes a long to develop friendships... thanks for the warning... people are very friendly here... Say hello when you see us!

Welcome Twins: Watch your backs in Prescott Valley. Friends take a long time to develop! Good thing you're tall so you can see above the weeds. The newness of your moving into a new town will soon wear off. Logan
