The Chino Valley Farmers Market will welcome customers for its 11th summer season each Thursday beginning June 7. Since 1997, the umbrella organization Prescott Farmers Market has operated markets of various sizes in several locations. The Chino Valley Farmers Market will be open Thursdays beginning June 7, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Olsen’s Grain, 344 S AZ-89 in Chino Valley. CVFM will be open every Thursday from the beginning of June through the end of October. “A farmers market is a unique place. It's so much more than your regular grocery store. It's a gathering place for delicious food grown, harvested, and cooked by our neighbors. When you buy foods at the market, you can trust that you’re buying it from the person who grew or made it. It’s great to know that my food comes from the same amazing place I like to call home,” said PFM Market Manager JB Del Campo. Each week at the market, customers can find a variety of fresh vegetables, fruits, flowers, baked goods, eggs, grass-fed beef, pork and pickles. Local farmers grow a variety of vegetables throughout the season, including leeks, potatoes, beets, radishes, carrots, salad mix, squash, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and melons. Customers can swipe their SNAP/EBT, debit or credit cards to receive tokens at the information booth. The Double Up Food Bucks Arizona program allows customers to double their SNAP benefits at the market, up to $20 per market visit. All vendors always accept cash. PFM is a producer-only farmers market, meaning every item sold is either grown or produced by the seller using Arizona-grown ingredients. PFM's annual Farm to Table Dinner will take place this year at the Holiday Courtyard in downtown Prescott on Sunday, August 19, with a pop-up market on Montezuma St. Tickets to the fundraiser will be available via their website starting May 7. As a vital part of the economy, the mission of Prescott Farmers Market is to support and expand local agriculture, cultivate a healthy community and increase access to affordable local food.
