Dementia Friends is a global movement developed in the United Kingdom and is now underway in the United States. The goal is to help members in a community understand five key messages about dementia, how it affects people, and how we each can make a difference in the lives of people living with the disease. People with dementia need to be understood and supported in their communities. You can help by becoming a Dementia Friend. A Dementia Friend participates in a one-hour Dementia Friends Information Session, and learns five key messages about dementia and a bit about what it's like to live with dementia. The new Dementia Friend is then better prepared to practice an action that can help someone with dementia living in their community. Your action can be as big or as small as you choose – because every action counts! Registration is required: Call-in: (Mon-Fri) 877-926-8300.
