Chino Valley High School students got a day off Wednesday after the school well's pump failed Tuesday morning.
Superintendent Duane Noggle said Chino Valley Unified School District staff Tuesday brought in potable water and porta-potties for the high school students to use.
Tuesday afternoon, he said, CVHS administrators decided to cancel school Wednesday so the pump could be fixed that day.
"This is the sixth time this pump has gone out since I've been here," Noggle said Wednesday afternoon. He has been with the district for two-and-a-half years.
"We expect to have to put a new pump in today. Hopefully, that will fix the problem," he said.
Noggle said the CVUSD office on the CVHS campus remains open. The staff is using bottled water.
He said the high school was the only school affected by the well problem. The elementary schools and middle school remained open Wednesday. All of the district's students will be back in school today at the regular time.
