Cattle Growers host calf sale, barbecue Sept. 26

The Yavapai Cattle Growers Association will have its annual Calf Sale and Barbecue for the 77th year Saturday, Sept. 26, at Maughan Ranch West Fork in Peeples Valley.
Activities begin with the Maughan Ranches Quarterhorse sale at 8 a.m. A 4-H and FFA Calf Judging Workshop will begin with sign-ups at 8 a.m. Western art, crafts and jewelry as well as industry information booths will open at 10 a.m. In addition the event includes kids sunfish fishing, a wildlife display, gold panning, mutton busting (for kids 55 pounds and lighter), a horseshoeing demo, KVRD radio live remote with "Mark in the Morning," a quilt drawing and, of course, barbecue!
Admission is free; the barbecue is $10 and $5 for children 12 and under.
