Prescott and Prescott Valley were among 18 communities to receive Greater Arizona Development Authority technical assistance awards. The technical assistance program offers communities help to discover project development needs, including planning, architectural design and financing options.

The Chino Valley Town Council voted to protest to the state Department of Water Resources regarding Prescott's claim to a mile-wide service area running through the middle of town. Prescott submitted a letter to the DWR showing its service area to be 30 miles long, running from Hassayampa Lake north to the headwaters of the Verde River.
