7/9/2009 10:57:00 PM Sheriff seeks leads on Humboldt business burglary
A sheriff's office press release says someone stole a truck and thousands of dollars worth of equipment earlier this week from a Humboldt business.
However, authorities recovered the truck and much of the equipment later on the same day that employees reported the theft.
On Monday, an employee at Iron King Auto Salvage in the 12000 block of Iron King Road called deputies when he came to work and found the front gate pushed over and a 1991 GMC truck with a double set of tires (known as a dually) missing.
In addition, employees found a damaged door and a smashed window in the main building. Inside, employees found mechanics' tools, computer systems, toolboxes, impact wrenches and auto parts missing.
Investigators determined the theft occurred between 5 p.m. on Sunday and Monday morning.
Early Monday evening, the press release said, someone found the truck parked near the Mayer Circle K on Highway 69. The truck contained most of the stolen equipment.
Later, deputies found additional stolen property, including cutting torch equipment, along a Highway 69 frontage road in Poland Junction.
The sheriff's office is urging anyone with information regarding this burglary to call them at 771-3260 or report the information anonymously to Yavapai Silent Witness 1-800-932-3232.
