Shortly after midnight on Tuesday, Yavapai County sheriff's deputies caught two Phoenix men wanted in connection with the robbery and kidnapping of a Tuba City man in the parking lot of a Flagstaff Wal-Mart an hour earlier.

The deputies saw the suspects' car traveling south on Interstate 17 near Sunset Point and pulled them over, according to a sheriff's press release.

Deputies recovered a handgun, the kidnapped victim's cell phone and a large amount of money, the release said.

Flagstaff police took custody of the two suspects - Emery Johnson, 35, and Matthew Johnson, 26 - and returned them to Flagstaff for booking on charges of armed robbery and kidnapping.

Flagstaff police said a 29-year-old Tuba City man was walking with his girlfriend through the parking lot of the Wal-Mart store to go shopping when a man called him to his car.

The victim walked to the passenger side of the car and saw another man in the backseat pointing a gun at him.

The men told the victim to get in, drove him a short distance away and then released him after taking his cell phone and wallet. The victim ran back to Wal-Mart and called police.

Yavapai deputies arrested the two suspects without incident, the press release said.

Good reason to have a CCW Permit and some training in deadly force needed to protect yourself. Not a good idea to go to a stranger's car in the first place. Glad it wasn't me, there could have been a couple idiots with major holes in their heads.
